Shauntal sat at the end of Lucian's bed, vision glued to the ground as she was in complete shock. She had just gotten off the phone with her grandparents there in Sinnoh and learned that her grandmother passed the night before in her sleep. Not long after that call, she received a text from her grandfather in Unova -- receiving the message from his caretaker, that he was currently in the hospital due to heart complications. She pulled her knees up to her chest as she tried to process everything.
At this rate, was anyone going to attend the wedding from her family? Both of her parents passed away when she was a child, both of her grandmothers were gone and now her grandfather on her mother's side was in critical condition. It seemed that she would be attending two funerals before her wedding, one being planned later that week for her grandmother on her father's side. She wasn't close with them, the family that lived in Sinnoh, but she kept in contact with them during family gatherings on occasion. Now, she feels as if her heart was slowly cracking.
So few remained alive in her family and her line would end. .with her. She was still surprised that Lucian wanted to remain with her, despite not being able to have the possibility of having children. Shauntal was in such a state of shock that she couldn't even cry.
Was this normal? Well, she's never been normal..so she would never be able to tell...
